Gary Kent Harding, Professor of Industrial Management Technology, started at Thames Valley State Technical College in August 1985 and retired from Three Rivers Community College in September 2018, having served 32 years teaching an array of business, accounting, and technology courses.

Over the years, Kent taught physics, fire engineering, electrical engineering, industrial management and supervision, accounting, finance, mathematics, and lastly in the Business Department. While Kent was in his final semester before retiring, he served as a great mentor in transitioning his duties as Program Coordinator for the Business Department.

Kent earned his B.S. and his M.S.E.E. from the University of Maryland, his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and is a Certified Cost Analyst. At various times throughout his career, Kent chaired the Business Department, the Technology Department, numerous committees, and represented Three Rivers at the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce. For decades, Kent was active in the AFT CT Federation of Technical College Teachers Union Executive Council and as the Three Rivers chapter vice-president. He continues in retirement to serve as Treasurer of the State-wide AFTCT Executive Council.
