A MUM-OF-TWO has died suddenly from a heart attack after a cosmetic procedure.

The 32-year-old singer Mayerly Díaz had undergone a mystery operation earlier this week.

Díaz died in hospital in Facatativá, Colombia where she was being treated for the heart attack.

The sudden medical emergency might be linked to severe complications from the op.

Díaz had had a cosmetic operation in the early hours of Saturday morning at a clinic in Bogotá.

The tragic death leaves her two children, aged just 11 and 13, without a mother.

Néstor, Díaz’s manager and close friend, said: “Her voice and passion for music represented all our people.”

“We will remember her for her humility and the joy she brought in every song.”

Díaz was originally from The Sierra, in the Quipile area in the centre of Colombia.

Known locally as “The Voice of Quipile”, her music spanned both pop and local folk.

The singer had released her latest music video only last week, titled Con tus chiros a otra parte or Take Your Cash Somewhere Else.

Her version of No supiste perder or You Didn’t Know How to Lose has 58,000 views on YouTube.

News of Díaz’s death spread like wildfire on social media, where she has thousands of followers, according to El Tiempo.

The Colombian news outlet said that fans had left hundreds of messages demanding an “immediate and rigorous investigation” into the death of the singer.

Fans are desperate to know if the tragedy had been caused by medical negligence, and want more details about the death to be released.

An investigation into the 32-year-old’s death has been launched.
