The Libertadores final between Flamengo and Palmeiras, scheduled for next Saturday (29th) at 9pm (Lisbon time), should move the Brazilian community in the Portuguese capital. The Fla-Portugal Embassy is preparing a big meeting at Docas de Alcântara, while the Palmeiras fans will concentrate on the Marvila region for the game that decides the main continental tournament in South America.

The red and black party in Alcântara starts early: from 2pm to 8:30pm, three bands provide live music and samba, before the game is broadcast in all restaurants in the Docas region. “The Fla-Portugal Embassy has existed since 2017. It started as the Fla-Lisbon Consulate and, over time, we grew,” said Leonardo Mesquita, director of the Embassy, to DN Brazil.

According to him, this year’s final should be the biggest ever organized in Portugal. “The entire Docks will embrace the event. All the bars will be broadcasting the game, it’s practically all sold out”, he says, highlighting that tickets for tables and mezzanines are already sold out and that the outdoor environment next to the Hawaii, Havana, Contra, Nolita bars is also expected to bring together hundreds of fans.

“We are there every game, no matter the time, sometimes there are those games at 1:30 in the morning, it doesn’t matter: rain or shine, we are always there with our flags and our scheme”, says Mesquita. For more information about the event, just look for the Embassy’s profile on Instagram.

Palmeiras gather in Marvila

Palmeiras fans will also have a reserved meeting point to follow the decision. In an exclusive event for Palmeiras residents, Mancha Verde Portugal and the Palmeiras Lisboa group organize an afternoon and evening alviverde in Marvila, with entry for €5 and programming that includes a live DJ, pyrotechnic show, children’s area and food and drink service on site.

The event takes place just a few minutes’ walk from the Marvila and Braço de Prata train stations, with specific safety recommendations: prohibition of black outfits (except allies), drinks brought from outside, shirts from rival clubs and alcohol consumption by minors. Children up to 6 years old do not pay entry. The ticket, non-refundable, can be digitally transferred to another person.

The 2025 Libertadores final takes place in Lima, Peru. Whoever wins will become the Brazilian club with the most titles in the competition (four). It is worth remembering that the game repeats the 2021 final, when Palmeiras beat Flamengo 2 x 1.
