In the same interview, carried out as part of the Conversa Capital program, Rogério Campos Henriques pointed out that tthere has been a slowdown in the number of health insurances – with Multicare having more than 1,200,000 people insured – and “an increase, above all, in use”.

“Health insurance in Portugal, when it was created, had a complementary perspective, it added a layer of service, of convenience, which, in recent years, due to some difficulties in the National Health Service (SNS), has expanded and, therefore, there is more supply and people use health insurance more”, he stated, saying that this “also explains why the cost of health insurance has been rising”.

From the perspective of rising insurance premiums, Rogério Campos Henriques estimated that health insurance prices should continue to rise next year, but below the 7% recorded this year, and that the rise should also occur in other branches.

In the case of the automobile sector, the person responsible noted that there was no decrease in the number of accidents and that the cost of repairs increased. In particular, he pointed out that the average cost of repairing electric vehicles is higher than that of repairing internal combustion vehicles.

In the case of severe atmospheric phenomena, such as Martinho and Cláudia, the CEO of Fidelidade pointed out that “they cost tens of millions of euros, as a whole”.

Regarding the construction of the new Banco de Portugal headquarters in Entrecampos, Rogério Campos Henriques said that progress is being made and that the schedule is being met, having already spoken with the new governor, Álvaro Santos Pereira.
