The Prosecutor’s Office asks to send Sarkozy and Carla Bruni to trial for pressuring a key witness in the Libyan financing case

The French Prosecutor’s Office announced this Tuesday that it has requested to send former president Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni, to trial, among others, for alleged pressure on a key witness in the case of the Libyan financing of his 2007 electoral campaign, for which the former president was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
