Fortnite players around the world seem to be facing login problems after thousands reported being unable to access the game. According to Downdetector, 3,747 users flagged an outage around 1:48 p.m., ET on Sunday, November 30 with most complaints linked to server connection issues (63%), followed by gameplay problems (21%) and login failures (15%).

Epic Games confirms login problems

Fortnite’s official status account addressed the issue on X, acknowledging widespread login failures.
“We’re aware players may be unable to log into Fortnite at the moment, and we’re investigating. We’ll provide an update when we have one.” — Fortnite Status (@FortniteStatus)

Minutes later, the developer announced that login issues had been resolved but reminded players that several major modes would still be unavailable.

“Login issues have been fixed up, but as a reminder, Battle Royale, Zero Build, Save The World, and Ballistic will be temporarily unavailable during the Yuki’s Revenge premiere event.”

Recent Fortnite server activity and scheduled maintenance

The outage follows a series of scheduled maintenance windows and event-related downtime around Fortnite’s v39.00 update and the Zero Hour live event. According to Fortnite’s incident logs:

  • Nov 30: Downtime for v39.00 update was completed
  • Nov 29: Multiple scheduled maintenance periods
  • Nov 29: Servers were taken offline after the Zero Hour event for the hotly anticipated update

Why Fortnite went down today

While Epic has not yet confirmed the exact cause of Sunday’s outage, the login problems may be tied to ongoing server adjustments, high traffic, and temporarily disabled game modes during the Yuki’s Revenge premiere event.
