Bupa made its debut in the Portuguese clinical market with the opening, at the beginning of November, of its first dental clinic in Portugal, located at El Corte Inglés, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The unit has seven cabinets and integrates advanced digital technology, such as CT scan, interoral scanner and digital radiography.
The operation reinforces the group’s presence in the country, where it already operated through health insurance, and marks a movement towards vertical integration between insurance and direct provision of care.
In parallel, Bupa recently launched the Bupa Saúde Conecta product in Portugal, focused on outpatient clinics and digital and home services.
Iñaki Peralta, CEO of Bupa Europe & Latin America, states, quoted in a statement, that “the opening of the first dental clinic in Portugal represents another step in the expansion of our model, bringing Portuguese patients closer to an innovative, personalized assistance experience in line with the standards of clinical excellence that Bupa maintains at an international level”.
The initiative can increase competitiveness in the private health sector and contribute to the diversification of the group’s revenues in Portugal.
