THIS is the astonishing moment a man narrowly escaped death after being struck by a huge pane of glass.
Street camera footage captures the calm before the storm as the unsuspecting victim takes a sip of his drink while glancing down at his phone.
Without warning, he is suddenly flattened by the falling glass and knocked unconscious.
The table he was sitting at is knocked sideways as the pane of glass shatters into pieces across the pavement.
Moments later, he can be seen slowly regaining consciousness.
The man was left bleeding heavily from his head and left arm.

Massive explosion near major airport with flights delayed and cancelled
He was stabilised at the scene by emergency responders and taken to hospital, where he is now said to be “out of danger”.
However, he did not escape without serious injuries.
The traumatic ordeal damaged 13 tendons in his left arm and left him requiring 20 stitches in his head
This unfolded in Palermo, a fashionable Buenos Aires neighbourhood.
It is known for its trendy cocktail bars, restaurants and boutique fashion shops that attract large numbers of tourists.
The pane of glass fell from the terrace of an unoccupied apartment above the Candela café-bakery on Ciudad de the Paz Street.
The owner is currently living in the eastern province of Corrientes.
It was reported to be safety glass measuring around nine square feet.
Firefighters, police officers and paramedics rushed to the scene.
Separate footage later showed police tape cordoning off the balcony the glass fell from as firefighters carried out safety checks on the entire seven-storey building.
A local resident named Julio identified the victim as an Argentinian man called Pablo.
Speaking to Argentine television, he said: “He’s okay but he had to have 20 stitches and his left arm is very bad, because he’s got 13 tendons that have been cut.
“He can’t close his hand at the moment and he’s going to have to do physio. Apart from that he’s okay.
“I’m not sure if Pablo is going to sue but I imagine he will.”
In the aftermath of the incident, the establishment beneath the building moved its outdoor seating area.
Tables and chairs were brought closer to the building and away from the pavement where customers had previously been exposed.
It remains unclear whether the homeowner has contacted the victim or if he plans to take legal action.
