THIS is the astonishing moment a brave bystander wrestles a weapon off one of the Bondi Beach gunmen.
Dramatic footage shows a member of the public in a white T-shirt approaching the assailant after at least nine people were shot dead in a horror attack.
They engage in a brief tussle, with the hero successfully wresting the firearm from the gunman.
As the assailant lies on the ground, the bystander briefly turns the gun towards him but doesn’t pull the trigger.
The gunman stumbles off, and the hero calmly places the weapon against a tree.
The camera then pans to the second gunman who is visibly frustrated by the turn of events.

GUN ATTACK
At least 9 dead after gunmen open fire at Bondi Beach as cops probe bomb threat
The courageous act comes after local authorities confirmed that two gunmen opened fire on a group of people at Bondi Beach.
Gunshots were heard ringing out across the beachfront as panic erupted and hundreds of people ran for their lives on Sunday.
Police have now confirmed that at least 10 people including one gunman have been killed in the shooting.
The other suspect is currently in custody and is in critical condition.
The force added that at least another 12 people – including children – were injured.
Witnesses told the Daily Mail that two men stepped out of a vehicle on Campbell Parade, near Bondi Pavilion, and opened fire at about 6.40pm.
Emergency services quickly rushed to the scene, with at least 30 ambulance crews and helicopter paramedics swarming the area.
Chilling drone footage later showed the gunmen’s final moments on the bridge behind Bondi Park.
One man, wearing a black shirt, is seen taking cover behind a fence while the other lies motionless on the ground.
The standing gunman appears to fire toward a man behind a white van before being shot and collapsing.
Both shooters appeared to be wearing ammunition belts.
Another video shows hundreds of beachgoers fleeing in panic as gunshots rang out.
A brave rescuer told how he dashed to the scene to tend the wounds of a mum shot twice in front of her horrified children.
The man – who asked not to be identified – was enjoying an evening at the beach when he heard dozens of gunshots ring out.
He raced to the scene as screaming beachgoers scattered and saw two children, aged about five or six, hiding under a car.
He said: “They said, ‘My mum, my mum!’”
He then pulled their mother from beneath the car and realised she had been shot twice, in the back of the neck and in her shoulder.
The helper said: “I had to apply pressure for about 20 minutes.
“(She had) big wounds. I had my fingers in the hole, I applied pressure. Then paramedics took over. Forty-five minutes later the ambulance arrived.”
“It was like war zone.”
Another witness, called Abdulla, had been driving down Campbell Parade when he saw two men shooting from the bridge to the beach.
He said: “That’s when I saw the first police officer who was shot, I ran out and tried to help him.”
The shots were still ringing out as he saw the other man helping the woman under the car.
‘WAR ZONE’
Paramedics are said to have treated “multiple” people at the scene and taken several others to nearby hospitals.
One mum told NewsWire panic erupted while her two daughters were with friends enjoying a night swim.
Police have since set up a no-go zone and brought in specific tools to get rid of IEDs, but they haven’t said where this zone is yet.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the scene as “shocking and distressing”.
Authorities have said that it is unknown if the incident is in any way connected to the Hanukkah event going on at Bondi Beach at the time.
The event, called Chanukah by the Sea, had been advertised as a night of family fun before all hell broke loose.
A similar Chanukah event was also set to take place at Dover Heights.
However, the cops have not reported any kind of disturbance.
In a statement on X, the force said: “Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are urging the public to AVOID the area.
“Anyone at the scene should take shelter. Police are on scene and more information will be provided when it comes to hand.”
A spokesperson for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese added: “We are aware of an active security situation in Bondi.
“We urge people in the vicinity to follow information from NSW Police.”
