The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this Saturday, November 29th, that he considers it “feasible” to reach “in the next few days” an agreement for a “dignified end” to the war with Russia.

“The Americans are showing a constructive approach and it is possible that in the coming days steps will be taken to determine how to bring the war to a dignified end.” said Zelensky, in his usual speech at the end of each day.

Zelensky highlighted that the Ukrainian delegation for the negotiations is already in the United States to “continue the dialogue based on the Geneva points”in a reference to the discussions that took place last weekend in the Swiss city and which also involved Kiev’s European allies.

“Diplomacy remains active (…). The Ukrainian delegation has the necessary guidelines and I hope that the representatives will work in accordance with clear Ukrainian priorities,” he stated.

A United States government official, cited by the France-Presse (AFP) news agency, meanwhile indicated that the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, will meet on Sunday with the Ukrainian delegation in Florida.

They will be accompanied by Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law.

These contacts come after Donald Trump presented, in recent days, a plan to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.

Washington’s initial proposal, consisting of 28 points, provided for the cession of territories to Russiathe reduction of personnel in the Ukrainian army and the enshrinement of Ukrainian neutrality in its Constitution, among other aspects that are rejected by Kiev.

The Russian military offensive on Ukrainian territory, launched on February 24, 2022, plunged Europe into what is considered the most serious security crisis since the Second World War (1939-1945).
