A rising name on the Brazilian rap scene, musician Yago Oproprio arrives in Europe this week for a new Eurotour, which marks the rapper’s reunion with an international audience. The series of presentations begins in Portugal, debuting in Porto on Friday (6), and passing through Lisbon the following day (7), a session already sold out at Estúdio Time Out.
The artist travels accompanied by singer Rô Rosa and music producer Patrício Sid. The duo, long-time partners, is part of the narrative that structures the show, designed especially for this tour, which includes eight dates in different countries. After Porto and Lisbon, the trio heads to Dublin (9/12), Barcelona (10/12), Berlin (11/12), Amsterdam (12/12), Paris (13/12) and London (14/12).
“I’m really excited about this, you know? I’m excited, but I know it’s going to be incredible, visiting new countries like Germany, I’ve never done a show in Paris… it’s crazy, I’ve never done a show in Paris, bro! This tour is a very special deal for us. It’s a unique show, made especially for this moment. It’s exclusive and special, and perhaps even irreplicable in the future”, comments the singer.
Born in Cohab I, in the East Zone of São Paulo, Yago mixes references from MPB, rap and Latin influences marked by his time in Venezuela as a teenager. Son of one of the creators of the Dolores Boca Aberta Mecatrônica de Artes collective, he grew up between soirees, instruments and theater, until he got closer to rap and freestyle, a phase in which he adopted the artistic name Oproprio.
