The Moldovan police announced the evacuation of the inhabitants of the town of Cuhurestii de Jos, Floresti district, in the northwest of the country, after the crash, this Tuesday, November 25, of a drone over a house, on the same day that Moscow launched an attack against the Ukrainian capital.

The Republic of Moldova borders Ukraine, a country invaded by Russia in 2014 and in 2022.

“The police explosives technical unit is on its way to the scene. The inhabitants were evacuated and the area was isolated by the Floresti police,” authorities added in a statement.

So far, the number of people removed from the scene has not been disclosed nor the origin of the unmanned aerial device that fell on a residence in Moldova.

In a message posted on social media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that “four drones crossed the airspace” of Moldova and Romania, indicating that “the exact overflight times were confirmed”.
