WASHINGTON has held secret, high-stakes talks with Russia and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi as Donald Trump’s team races to lock down their reworked peace plan.
It comes as Vladimir Putin unleashed one of his most brutal overnight bombardments in weeks, killing at least six people.
US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll met a Russian delegation behind closed doors late Monday, with further talks expected today between Mr Driscoll and Ukraine’s military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov.
The meetings, first reported by the Financial Times, mark the most serious diplomatic push yet to finalise the Trump administration’s evolving plan to end the war.
