A Ukrainian negotiating team is expected to arrive in the United States over the weekend to discuss the North American plan to end the war in Ukraine, reported this Friday, November 28, the agency France-Presse (AFP).

“The delegation plans to meet with US representatives this weekend”a source linked to the process told AFP, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Negotiations could take place in Florida, in the southeast of the United States, added the same source.

Andriy Yermak, Ukraine’s main negotiator in peace talks with Russia and the United States, had planned to participate in the meeting, before being fired this Friday, he also said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this Friday the dismissal of his chief of staff and main negotiator, following searches carried out by anti-corruption authorities at his residence in the presidential complex.

Yermak, a central figure in the power structure in Kiev, confirmed that his apartment was the target of an early morning police raid, conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which are leading an investigation into a scandal in the energy sector.
