In a recent post on social media, the Ukrainian president does not mention a peace agreement, only indicating that the “communication with the American side continues”. “I am grateful for all of America’s efforts and, personally, for President Trump’s efforts,” he wrote.

Zelensky said in the note that he spoke with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, with whom he said he shared “the most recent details” of the work to end the war. “We are coordinating to ensure that all our partners are informed”, stated the head of state of Ukraine, noting that he discussed “the latest developments” with Merz and that the two coordinated the “next steps”.

On social media, the Ukrainian president also said that he had discussed with the German chancellor the agenda for this Tuesday’s meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which will be held via videoconference and will be “co-chaired by Germany”.

Luís Montenegro, Portuguese Prime Minister, will also participate in the meeting, at 15:00, a source from his office told Lusa, as well as NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte.

Previously, also on social media, Zelensky stated that there is still a way to go after the meetings that took place last weekend in Switzerland.

“After the meetings in Geneva, we see many perspectives that can make the path to peace a reality,” Zelensky said, referring to “solid results.” He stated, however, that “there is still a lot of work ahead.”
