Trump flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane at least eight times, according to new declassified files

This is indicated by an email that is part of the more than 11,000 files on the Epstein case -including emails, videos and audio files- that the US Department of Justice published this Tuesday.

This massive publication comes after the Department of Justice declassified a partial batch of files last Friday, including several Unpublished photographs of former President Bill Clinton with Epsteinincluding one in which he appears in a jacuzzi next to a person with a censored face.

Unlike those published last Friday, the new files include several mentions of Trump, who has tried to distance himself as much as possible from Epstein by stating that they were good friends, until their relationship ended in 2004, years before the financier was first arrested.

“I want you to know that the flight logs we received yesterday reflect that Donald Trump traveled on Epstein’s private jet many more times than had been reported (or of which we were aware),” wrote a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York in an email in January 2020, which was released this Tuesday.

Trump flew on that plane at least eight times between 1993 and 1996, wrote the prosecutor, who specified that this period fits with that investigated within the investigations into Epstein’s accomplice and ex-partner, Ghislaine Maxwellwho coincided with the now president on at least four of those flights.

In some cases, the prosecutor added, those traveling on the plane could serve as witnesses in the case against Maxwell, who was sentenced in 2021 to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking of minors.

FBI Clues

The documents also reveal that the FBI collected several clues about the relationship between Trump and Epstein during parties on their respective properties in the early 2000s, although they do not confirm whether there were subsequent investigations in this regard.

Additionally, records show that investigators in the Maxwell case sent a court summons to Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s mansion and private club in West Palm Beach (Florida).

The reason for this subpoena is not entirely clear, but the documents do indicate that a federal prosecutor was looking for documents about people who worked at Trump’s club that could be relevant to the case against Maxwell.

“I have not been able to locate anyone who remembers [censurado] working at Mar-a-Lago in 2000,” that prosecutor wrote in an email included among the new papers.

The new tranche of files also includes a 22 page letter from the criminal division of the United States Department of Justice to the authorities of the United Kingdom, in which they request a voluntary interview with “the PA witness”in reference to pPrince Andrew.

In November, King Charles III of the United Kingdom withdrew the title of Prince and other distinctions from his brother Andrew, who had fallen into disgrace for his past relationship with Epstein and his questioned business activities.

Last Friday, the Department of Justice launched a website to consult documents from the investigation of Epstein, who committed suicide in prison in 2019, after the approval in Congress of a law that forces the Government to disclose all unclassified information about the case.
