The Judicial Police is carrying out searches in Transtejo this Wednesday, December 17th, according to the TSF. At issue is the purchase of batteries for the company’s vessels.

Transtejo, remember, purchased ten electric passenger transport ships for 52.4 million euros, but nine of the catamarans were purchased without their batteries and are therefore inoperable. “Transtejo purchased a complete ship and nine incomplete ships, unable to function, because they were not equipped with the necessary batteries for that purpose. The same would be, with the necessary adaptations, to buy a car without an engine, a motorcycle without wheels or a bicycle without pedals, reserving them for a procedure subsequent to their acquisition”, understood the Court of Auditors, which stopped the purchase of the nine missing batteries for 15.5 million euros. For the organization, the deal was harmful to the public interest, having referred the case to the Public Ministry.

Following this case, the company’s Board of Directors ended up asking for his dismissal.
