A MUM-of-two has tragically died after a botched cosmetic surgery she underwent to look slimmer.
Liz Brigette Esquivel Palacios, 38, went with her young daughter to get liposuction at a private clinic in Peru
Her 19-year-old daughter was initially told the operation went well.
But a few hours later, doctors said complications had developed, and she was not allowed to see her mum.
Eventually, the devastated girl was finally informed that the mother of two had died.
She, along with her 17-year-old brother and other relatives, then reported the case to the authorities in Trujillo.
The clinic has not spoken yet about the tragic incident.
Authorities are now investigating the case.
Liz was a Business Administration graduate and worked for BCP, Peru’s largest bank.
Liposuction, while widely performed, carries recognised risks, including infection, excessive bleeding, adverse reactions to anaesthesia and, in rare cases, death.
Medical experts stress the importance of undergoing cosmetic procedures only at fully accredited clinics with qualified, experienced staff.

Meanwhile, a journalist and model also died after allegedly having fillers in her buttocks.
