Robin Westman, the person who entered a Catholic school in the American city of Minneapolis this Wednesday and murdered two minors, “was obsessed with the idea of killing children.”
So it explained the acting attorney for the district of Minnesota, Joseph Thompson.
In a press conference, he explained that, once the writings left by the shooter were analyzed, that idea “is clear and will be difficult to understand.
“The shooter saw the attack as a way to target the most vulnerableat the time when they were most vulnerable,” he added in reference to their attendance at the Catholic school and the temple within the school.
Thompson has promised to continue testing “until a logical conclusion is reached”while Minnesota authorities say they will do everything possible “to establish a motive” for the crime.
However, he assured that there may not be a definitive or satisfactory answer about the causes that led Westman to enter with a rifle, a shotgun and a pistol at the Annunciation Catholic School for children between 5 and 14 years old.
Once inside, he murdered two children, ages 8 and 10, and left 17 injured before committing suicide, according to data provided by local police.
“Showed evidence of hate”
“I am not going to dignify the attacker’s words by repeating them: They are horrible and vile. But, in short, the attacker wanted to see the children suffer,” the prosecutor said.
The murderer, he explained, “certainly showed evidence of hatred.”
Among Westman’s messages that have been made public, there were several in which he expressed his visceral rejection of Jews and President Donald Trump.

“He seemed to hate us all“, have pointed out the authorities, for whom there is only one group that the murderer idolized: that of other school attackers and mass murderers.

The murderer legally changed his name from Robert to Robin in 2020, according to Minnesota court records.
