The Maduro regime releases at Christmas 71 political prisoners arrested in the protests for the 2024 presidential elections

The regime of Nicolás Maduro has released this Thursday, Christmas Day, 71 political prisoners imprisoned within the framework of the protests for the 2024 presidential elections.

The Committee of Mothers in Defense of Truth reported this mass release through a statement, in which it detailed that 65 men held in the prison known as Tocorón, in the state of Aragua (north), were released, as well as three women from the La Crisálida Women’s Penitentiary Center, in Miranda (north), and three adolescents in La Guaira (north).

The committee celebrated the releases, although it considered it to be an “insufficient” achievement, which is why it demanded “full freedom” for all those detained after the elections in July of last year through a general amnesty.
