Court records confirm that 44-year-old Justin Tawse Brigham, the now-former co-owner of Sycamore Brewing, was arrested in Stanly County on Thursday, Dec. 11. According to the documents, Brigham faces three felony charges, statutory assault of a child under 15, first-degree burglary and indecent liberties with a child.

An arrest warrant from the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office alleges that Brigham broke into a home on Wednesday and engaged in explicit acts with a 13-year-old girl. He was taken into custody the following day and appeared in court that morning. A judge set his bond at $10 million. If released, he must surrender his passport, stay within North Carolina, avoid social media, and have no contact with the victim. His next court appearance is set for Dec. 29, 2025, as quoted in a report.

Sycamore Brewing’s website lists Brigham as co-owner alongside his wife, Sarah Brigham, who began brewing beer with him in 2013. Hours after the arrest became public, Sarah issued a statement on the brewery’s Instagram page, signing it with her maiden name, as per a report by WBTV.

“To our employees, customers, and partners,
I am devastated by the charges against Justin and the pain this has inflicted on our family and others.
