“Hello everything is fine?” Sometimes talking to someone can save a life. This is one of the messages of new suicide prevention campaignlaunched by the National Health Service (SNS). The message is transmitted through a fictional video, but which It can represent the lives of many people in the country.

The short film shows an ordinary man, with a job and family, who could be a friend, co-worker or neighbor, and who suffers in silence. Between family and professional routine and the tasks of adult life, this suffering went unnoticed by those around him, and the ending is tragic.. The protagonist is the actor Albano Jerónimo, and directed by Augusto Fraga.

Choosing the campaign date is strategic. According to the SNS, this awareness has “special relevance during this time, when feelings of loneliness, isolation and vulnerability tend to intensify.”

Along with the video, information is released about the suicide prevention line, launched in September. “Service is provided by healthcare professionals trained in suicidology and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week”the message reads.
