THIS is the terrifying moment a tourist posing for a photograph at a coastal attraction is suddenly swept into the sea by a huge wave.
Footage shows the woman, wearing an orange summer dress, sitting atop a cliff near the water as a wave crashes over her, knocking her off her feet and dragging her into the sea.
The incident happened while the woman from China was visiting the Matrouh Eye scenic area in the city of Mersa Matruh in Egypt.
Afterwards, she told reporters that she suffered multiple abrasions to her body and described the experience as “very frightening”.
She said she was lucky not to be seriously injured and would be more cautious when travelling in the future.
The woman said she managed to get back to shore by holding onto a safety rope at the site.

Eagle-eyed online users pointed out the location did not originally have a rope installed and said she was fortunate it was present.
The Matrouh Eye scenic area is a popular coastal viewpoint in the city of Mersa Matruh on Egypt’s Mediterranean shore.
Known for its striking rock formations and powerful surf, the area attracts visitors seeking dramatic seafront photographs.
The spot is often visited for its clear waters and exposed vantage points where waves can crash unexpectedly against the rocks.
Whilst this creates the dramatic scenes that draw crowds, it creates risks for tourists who stand close to the waterline.
Tourists are frequently getting into horrifying situations for the sake of a photo opportunity.
Earlier this month a daredevil hiker plunged off a 130ft high cliff in China while taking a selfie.
Footage of the ordeal showed the tourist balancing his way along the edge of the mountain grasping his phone in his hand.
But as he went to take a photo, the rock crumbled under his foot and the man was sent tumbling into the greenery below.
Local reports say he plunged the distance of around 50 feet (15 metres).
Fortunately, he later took to social media to confirm that he had a lucky escape and is alive and well.
And in February a tourist who lent out of a train to take a selfie died after falling out of the carriage.
Grandmother Olga Perminova, 53, tragically smashed her head in the accident, sustaining horrific injuries, reports claim.
The Podi Menike train, which Olga was on, is renowned for its amazing scenery as it passes forests, mountainous terrains and beautiful landscapes.
Olga was hanging from the train footboard between the Badulla and Hali Ela railway stations when the tragedy occurred.
She is said to have “knocked against a rock, fell of the train and sustained severe injuries”.
Olga was given emergency treatment after the accident but later died from her head injuries in hospital.
