THIS is the moment a convicted paedophile and child killer is ambushed and shot dead just hours after being released from prison.
Shocking CCTV shows two hooded gunmen moving in on Joao Ferreira da Silva as he leaves a hotel in the Brazilian city of Sinop.
He is forced to put his hands behind his head and is led away from the entrance as an accomplice keeps hotel guests back.
Moments later, he is shot at close range and collapses on the pavement as the attackers flee.
Ferreira da Silva, 46, had been released from the Osvaldo Florentino Leite Penitentiary – known as Ferrugem – just a day earlier after presenting a release order issued by the Sinop Court.
He had been freed into a semi-open prison regime, meaning he only had to return to jail at night.

The former bricklayer was serving a 42-year sentence for the brutal October 28, 2005 murder of nine-year-old Bruno Aparecido dos Santos.
He lured the child into a building site, sexually abused him before killing him and burying his body nearby.
He was arrested 10 days later after attacking another child.
A former Sinop resident recalled: “I was living in Sinop at the time. I remember that he was discovered because, a few days later, he tried to attack another boy, who managed to escape.
“The boy was about 12 years old and was selling ice lollies. His neck was scratched all over from the attempt.”
During questioning, he confessed to raping, killing and burying Bruno before later backtracking at trial and claiming he was not involved.
The horrific crime caused huge outrage at the time.
Around 500 people tried to force their way into the police station to lynch him, forcing cops to intervene with pepper spray and shots fired into the air.
Footage of Wednesday morning’s killing shows one gunman firing several shots before the second also opens fire.
Three spent bullet casings were found at the scene.
Firefighters confirmed his death and his body was sent to the Forensic Medical Institute for autopsy.
Bruno’s mum Josiana da Silva reacted after news of the killing emerged, saying: “I ask God for forgiveness for being happy.
“I am happy not for my son, my son died and there is no way back, but I am happy that this man will not kill anyone else, no child will be killed by him.”
She added: “Justice has been done, but for me it took too long.
“I had the courage to go and see the man who killed my son when he was tried but I regretted it because I was filled with hatred and wanted to kill him.
“I thought I wouldn’t have the courage to kill him, but today, seeing him dead, I know that if I had had the opportunity to kill him, I would have done so, as a mother.”
Speaking of the life stolen from her son, Josiana said: “I didn’t have the courage to see Bruno after he died.
“Today I could have my grandchildren, his children, and I don’t. I could be seeing him as a man and I can’t. It hurts every day.”
Social media users also celebrated the killing, with one writing: “Straight to hell. Good riddance.”
Another said: “The likelihood of reoffending now is zero.”
A third added: “Where the state failed, payment came late.
“Rape should carry this type of punishment, death.”
Police in Sinop, Mato Grosso state, said a major operation was underway to identify and arrest the killers, who hid their faces with hoodies and facemasks.
Officers said no arrests had yet been made and they were still investigating whether the execution was linked to his notorious crimes or his release from prison.
