As a result of the operations, the authority seized a total of more than 214,270 articles of clothing bearing “registered trademarks of great international prestige”, textile accessories and transfers, letterheads, stamps, printing frames, metallic applications, composition labels, as well as five sewing machines and a button sewing machine, for being used in illicit activity.

ASAE executed seven search warrants, home and non-domestic, and four digital search warrants, having arrested four individuals, constituted defendants, and subject to identity and residence terms.

Seven criminal proceedings were initiated for the offenses of counterfeiting, imitation or illegal use of a brand, as well as the sale or concealment of products, foreseen and punishable by the Industrial Property Code.

The actions, which took place in the municipalities of Barcelos, Guimarães, Santo Tirso and Fafe, were aimed at the textile and textile packaging industries, as well as the metal casting industry dedicated to the production of applications, stamps and metal stamps.
