The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated that “the ultimate objective” of the negotiations taking place this Sunday, November 30, in the United States with a Ukrainian delegation “is obviously not just the end of the war”, as quoted by The Associated Press.

For Rubio, “it’s also about securing an end to the war that leaves Ukraine sovereign and independent, with the opportunity to achieve real prosperity.”added the head of diplomacy for the Donald Trump administration.

“It’s not just about peace agreements,” Rubio said in a short conversation with the press. Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine’s Security Council, responded to the secretary, according to the AP, to show his country’s gratitude for the efforts to end the war.

“The US is listening to us,” Umerov said. “The US is supporting us. The US is working alongside us.”

On the American side, in addition to Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, participate in the meeting in Florida. The group’s focus is on adjusting the structure of the North American peace plan, with 28 points, already sent to Russia and which should be discussed in Moscow.

“The main parameters were communicated to us and there will be a discussion in Moscow next week”, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during his press conference two days ago.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated, as soon as his delegation arrived in the USA, that he considers it “feasible” to reach an agreement “in the next few days” for a “dignified end” to the war with Russia.

“The Americans are showing a constructive approach and it is possible that in the coming days steps will be taken to determine how to bring the war to a dignified end.” said Zelensky, in his usual speech at the end of each day.
