At the same time, he was convinced that this happens with other political elites in Europe, and not those who currently govern. “In any case, it will be inevitable as we become stronger. If not with the current politicians, then it will be after a change in the European political elites,” he said.

He assured that in Europe “the population is being indoctrinated with the fear of a war with Russia” and accused its leaders of “foster hysteria.”

“I have repeatedly said: this is a lie, nonsense, pure nonsense about an alleged Russian threat to European countries. But this is being done deliberately,” he defended.

The president reiterated that Russia does not seek war with Europea, but she is ready for it if that is Europe’s choice.

“Russia will achieve its goals”

In any case, Putin assured that Russia will achieve its objectives in Ukraine through diplomatic or military means and that will seek to expand there a “safety zone”.

“First of all, the objectives of the special military operation will certainly be achieved. We prefer to do it and address the root causes of the conflict through diplomacy,” Putin said.

“If the opposing party and its foreign sponsors refuse to engage in substantive talks, Russia will achieve the liberation of its historical territories by military means. The creation and expansion of a buffer security zone will also be systematically addressed,” he warned.

Of the regions of Ukraine that Russia has claimed as its own territory, it currently controls Crimea, about 90% of the Donbas region, and 75% of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
