Glass packaging manufacturer Vidrala announced the signing of a binding agreement to acquire 100% of the capital of Chilean Cristalerías Toro, from the same sector of activity, headquartered in the metropolitan region of Santiago.

The glassworks mainly serves customers in the food and beverage sectors, many of them with a global presence and complementary to Vidrala’s customer base.

The operation, with an approximate value of 77 million euros, is part of the group’s internationalization strategy, which already holds relevant positions in Southern Europe, the United Kingdom and Brazil since 2023.

With this purchase, Vidrala gains an industrial base in Chile, a market with a strong agri-food and beverage tradition and where strategic customers for the group are located.

The completion of the deal is subject to certain essential conditions for the implementation of the group’s industrial model and is scheduled for the beginning of 2026.

Upon completion, Vidrala expects to maintain a solid financial structure, with consolidated net debt consistently below 0.5 times annual EBITDA.

In a statement, the company highlights the recognition for the trajectory and quality of the work of Cristalerías Toro’s shareholders and teams, whose collaboration is considered fundamental for the development of the project.
