The Brisa Group completed the acquisition of 100% of the capital and voting rights of the French company Axxès, a provider of electronic toll services for heavy vehicles in several European markets.
The operation integrates Axxès into Via Verde and expands the group’s presence in the transport and logistics segment on a continental level.
Axxès, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Lyon, operates in 14 countries — including France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland and Portugal — and processes more than one billion euros in annual transactions. The company has 125 employees and offers a toll and fleet management platform, serving direct customers and commercial partners.
The acquisition reinforces interoperability capabilities and the offer of solutions for transport operators, potentially translating into efficiency gains and reduced operational costs for fleets that cross several European jurisdictions, highlights the company in a statement released this Thursday, 27th.
According to António Pires de Lima, CEO of Grupo Brisa, “the completion of this acquisition represents an important step in the execution of our strategic plan, affirming Via Verde as a European leader in mobility services. Axxès brings us an innovative platform and a reinforced presence in the heavy vehicle segment, fully aligned with our decarbonization objectives”, adds the administrator.
Axxès’ entry into the Group’s perimeter was completed after meeting the usual conditions, including regulatory authorizations.
The company will continue to operate with its current brand and management, while Grupo Brisa integrates its international offer — which already includes a presence in the Netherlands.
In terms of governance, Eduardo Ramos, CEO of Via Verde, assumes the presidency (Chairman) from Axxès. Frédéric Lepeintre remains President and CEO of Axxès, and Pedro Mourisca, current administrator of Via Verde, becomes executive director with CFO responsibilities.
