Fuel prices will rise again next week, putting an end to the falls of recent weeks.
According to the ACP, from Monday onwards gasoline will be around a cent more expensive and diesel will be half a cent more expensive — meaning that a liter of simple diesel should cost approximately 1,530 euros and simple 95 gasoline at 1,661 euros, based on averages released by DGEG.
These increases interrupt four consecutive weeks of declines in diesel and five in gasoline, which had cumulatively reduced prices by 10.7 cents and 8.1 cents, respectively.
The final values may also vary depending on the behavior of Brent prices this Friday, exchange rate developments and differences between filling stations, as published prices result from the average charged by gas stations.
Oil markets are showing some recovery today: Brent futures contracts rose around 0.18%, to $62.37 per barrel, in sessions with little trading after Christmas, with investors assessing supply risks linked to geopolitical tensions.
Even so, the average annual price of crude oil is expected to record the biggest drop since 2020, due to the increase in production by OPEC+ and producers outside the cartel, which could generate surpluses in the market next year.
