The other two spaces outside the main buildings of Conversas de Alpendre are the Cabana, located in the center of the property, which also focuses on privacy, with an exclusive pool and views of the sea and the orange grove, and the Warehouse, an old agricultural space transformed into a loft, is the largest unit, with deck outdoor area, private pool and capacity for families.

Eat & Drink

At Conversas de Alpendre, there is a particularity in what is, for many, one of the main moments when a guest chooses where to stay: breakfast. In this rural tourism house, unlike large hotels, there is no buffet. The service is done at the table and without rigid schedules, that is: There is no time limit for breakfast.

“Having a set schedule, sometimes having to wake up early to go to breakfast, was something that bothered me when visiting hotels. When I decided to migrate to this area of work, I decided that one of the things I wouldn’t give up was an open-plan breakfast at our hotel”, says Marta Guevara, saying that, sometimes, some guests have breakfast between noon and 1pm.

Among the menu options are some classics from luxury hotels around the world, such as Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale, pancakes, homemade bread and various cheeses and sausages. Home-made yogurt and granola also accompany the meal, as well as fruits and natural juices.

At dinners, the focus is on local products and seasonality. The meal can take several forms – surprise, themed or romantic, always with the same basic idea: few dishes, well executed, without noise around. During the day, there are light meals and the possibility of picnicsdesigned to accompany a trip to the beach or a walk around the region.

On our visit, we were welcomed with a dinner prepared by the Brazilian chef Robson Cup, who is also responsible for the kitchen at Colégio Charm House. For the main course, Beker served a well-executed Beef Wellington, while for dessert the big star was a tiramisù.

Among the experiences provided by Conversas de Alpendre, one of the most sought after is precisely access to Praia da Fábrica, in Cacela Velha. Guests travel in a UMM jeep to the banks of the Ria Formosa and then take a short boat crossing to the island.

On the other side, you can find umbrellas, sun loungers and, if you want, a picnic prepared by the hotel. Well-being extends to massages and yoga practices, which take place in different parts of the property.
