Lidl Portugal opened a new store in Évora, the result of an investment of around eight million euros intended for the construction of the commercial space and the redevelopment of the adjacent public domain.

The opening of the new space allows the number of employees to increase to 25 and reinforces the group’s presence in the national market, where it celebrates three decades of activity and operates more than 280 stores.

The sales area of the new establishment is 1,580 m² — practically double that of the old store — and includes around 160 parking spaces, with spaces dedicated to motorhomes and two fast charging stations for electric vehicles, the retailer said in a statement.

The infrastructure integrates energy efficiency measures, such as photovoltaic panels and LED lighting. New road accesses were also created, including a roundabout, as well as additional public parking, contributing to the reorganization of local mobility, notes the supermarket chain in the same document.
