Since the beginning of the Mission Structure, the delay in sending cards has been the main criticism from immigrants. The legal deadline is 90 days for the first residence permit and 60 days for renewals.
There are still 88,468 cases to be decided. The largest volume still to be dealt with is renewals, with 61% of requests pending a decision. Of the expressions of interest, 3% remain, while 11% of CPLPSs are missing, in addition to 33% in the transitional regime.
Even though in-person services end at the end of this month, the analysis of the processes continues. According to the DN Brazil has learned from the Government, communication will be via email and, if an in-person appointment is necessary, appointments will be made at AIMA stores. The processes of those who have not yet completed will continue in the same system and worked on by lawyers and solicitors.
Renewals of new orders will be online, in the system opened in July. At the end of each month, renewals are opened for cards that expire in the following month. In other words, in the next few days the portal will be opened to renew documents that expire in January.
