AT least 14 people were injured during a horrifying knife rampage at a factory in Japan – with the attacker also spraying an unidentified liquid at victims.

The frenzied assault unfolded at a rubber factory on Friday before police stopped the suspect and cuffed him at the scene.

Emergency services arrived shortly after and rushed several injured people to hospital.

A spokesperson for the firefighting department said: “Fourteen people are subject to transportation by emergency services.”

Authorities added that a witness sounded the alarm at about 4.30pm local time.

A witness said “five or six people were stabbed by someone” and that a “spray-like liquid” was also used during the terrifying attack.

The assault took place in city of Mishima, in the Shizuoka prefecture, west of Tokyo.

The suspected knifeman was reportedly arrested at the factory.
