The Prime Minister he had spoken out against the general strike and the possible lack of reform in labor law, just as, since the summer, he has insisted that it is necessary to resolve the problems he considers to be derived from immigration. After the investigation process, now archived by the Attorney General of the Republic regarding the legality of the action in Spinumviva, Montenegro had already made it clear that he was “calm and confident” that the legislature is about to last. After the Socialist Party abstained from the State Budget and also negotiated with Chega – even managing to avoid financial slippages because the two opposition parties blocked each other on other proposals in general – the Prime Minister shows conviction, even in the form of a warning to “responsibility”who remains in government until 2029.
“We don’t all have to agree, but we have to understand that our individual position is not the most important thing. Now that we will have about three and a half years without national elections, it is time for us all to focus on fulfilling our responsibility and doing everything to guarantee Portugal and every Portuguese person a more prosperous future”, projects, detailing upcoming goals, namely in economic growth: “Creating more wealth is the way to combat poverty. A country with more growth can raise wages, raise pensions, support the purchase of medicines for those who need it most, can negotiate better professional careers, can invest more in housing, education and invest better in health. A country with more growth can protect its heritage, its natural riches, it can be more cohesive and guarantee justice, mobility, and the security and defense of its territory and its essential infrastructures.”
In external terms, and after establishing agreements with Ukraine, it highlights as key points the “geostrategic location and the capacity for dialogue in the international context”, responding to criticisms of the Liberal Initiative in the bureaucratic and public panorama, referring to “new ambitions in the functioning of the administration”, as is said to be done “in the process of simplification and reform of the state.”
Repeating the verb “transform”, promises “new salary ambitions”, remembering that the minimum wage has increased to 920 euros and the plan to reach 1100 in 2029. He did not fail to say that the Government “is meeting all employment objectives” and that “economic solidity is based on a model with higher wages and lower taxes”. He dedicated words “to those who in these festive days guarantee our safety, essential services and our collective well-being such as health professionals, transport professionals, firefighters, security forces, military personnel, journalists” and to “the families of those who live through so many wars like in Africa, the Middle East, or Ukraine.”
