Presidential candidate António José Seguro promised this Saturday, December 27th, that, as President of the Republic, he will promote “adult relations between sovereign bodies”, stating that since the end of the debates it has made sense to increase the “movement of hope” around his candidacy.

Despite the rain that was felt this afternoon in Lisbon, Seguro and his supporters toured Wonderland, which had few people due to the weather conditions, and, in statements to journalists, the presidential candidate supported by the PS considered that “a wet campaign is a blessed campaign”.

“The President of the Republic, as I understand his action and interpretation should be, does not comment on the Prime Minister’s Christmas messages and, if he has anything to say to the Prime Minister, he says it in private, he says it at meetings on Thursdays”, he replied, once again asked to comment on Luís Montenegro’s message.

Seguro argued that adult relationships should be “cultivated between sovereign bodies”.

Asked about today’s statements by former parliament president Augusto Santos Silva that the former PS leader is “the one who comes closest” to “fulfilling minimum requirements” as President of the Republic, Seguro was “very happy” with the support he has received “every day”.

“Support arrives every day. The way in which each person expresses this support is up to each person”, he simply said, valuing the movement of “democrats, progressives and humanists” that “is transforming into a movement of hope”.

The candidate supported by the PS expects support to continue to grow because “that’s what the polls say” and that’s what he says he feels “among the population”.

“A lot of affection, a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of sympathy. And I notice that after the debates ended, this movement of hope that is led by me in this candidacy grew even more intense and increased”, he emphasized.
