TEAR-JERKING footage has emerged of a Bernese Mountain dog standing guard over her owner’s dead body during the Bondi Beach shooting.
The loyal dog, since identified as Maui, can be seen standing alone over her owner, just metres from suspected shooter Sajid Akram, 50.
The 50-year-old is one of two gunmen alleged to be responsible for the killing of 15 people in Sydney on December 14.
The second suspected shooter is Sajid’s son Naveed Akram, who is said to have pledged allegiance to IS.
The attack targeted Jewish families who were celebrating Hanukkah on Bondi Beach, and sent 42 people to hospital.
The footage also shows Maui running around the park in desperation as people run and duck for cover.

When the heartbreaking video began to circulate online, Arthur and Co. Pet Detectives founder Anne-Marie Curry called for the brave pup to be reunited with his owners.
But Maui’s owner, a man who is yet to be identified, was one of 15 people killed in the massacre.
The murdered dog-owner is thought to have been walking Maui and another dog with his wife when the shooting began.
The second dog was a small white poodle, who was uninjured.
Pet Detectives founder Curry said the Bernese Mountain dog is now safe with the victim’s wife after community groups pulled together to find her.
She told news.com.au: “There is footage of Maui standing over a number of victims after her own parent was shot. She was right in the line of fire.”
Arthur and Co. Pet Detectives called the owner’s death “such a tragedy” and said “it defies belief” in a Facebook post.
The post said: “Thankfully, we’ve just received confirmation that both the victim’s dogs (Maui the Bernese and the smaller white poodle) are safe.”
The Pet Detectives thanked “everyone who forged forward to help” with the search for Maui.
They added: “Tragic times and tragic events remind us of the importance of standing by each other, helping without agenda or fear, and just doing what is needed to support our fellow community when and where it’s needed most.”
One commenter said he was friends with Maui’s murdered owner.
He said: “She adored her dad, and my heart breaks for her.
“Thank you to whoever it was who caught her and got her home.”
He described the unidentified victim as “such a lovely guy, a really gentle soul”.
Other victims of the attack include a ten-year-old girl, a British-born rabbi, and a holocaust-survivor who died protecting his wife.
It comes as suspected shooter Naveed Akram has woken up from a coma in hospital.
His father was shot dead at the scene of the massacre by cops, but the 24-year-old suspect was taken to hospital in critical condition after the shooting.
Akram is now reportedly talking to investigators at his bedside, after news broke that he spent a month in the Philippines with his dad before the attack.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed that Naveed had come to the attention of Aussie spies in 2019 because of links to a known terrorist.
Even more people could have been killed if it were not for a trio of brave beach-goers who attempted to stop the gunmen.
Dramatic footage showed Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, bravely wrestling a rifle from one of the shooters.
Ahmed was shot five times and had to be rushed to hospital where he is now recovering from surgery.
