The Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing said this Sunday, December 7, in a statement, that housing support reached almost 1,000 million euros in less than two years, since the PSD/CDS-PP governments of Luís Montenegro have been in power.

“Housing support, including Porta 65, the Extraordinary Income Support Program (PAER) or compensation for landlords, as well as exemption from IMT and Stamp Tax for young people totaled in 2024 and 2025 (data up to October) more than 920 million euros”, said the ministry led by Miguel Pinto Luz.

According to the ministry, in addition to short-term support, medium and long-term measures have also been taken.

“In addition to the support, in less than two years, investment in public housing exceeded 9.2 billion euros – the largest investment ever -, which will allow, by 2030, to implement the approximately 150 thousand housing solutions foreseen in the Local Housing Strategies, in the Public Affordable Housing Park program and in Public-Private Partnerships”, the statement reads.

The statement also recalls several measures that the Government wants to carry out, namely tax incentives to promote housing construction and bring vacant houses to the rental market.
