Dutch Luuk de Jong, FC Porto forward, suffered a “partial injury to the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee”, following the match against Estoril, in the 12th round of the I League, the Dragons announced this Thursday, December 4th.
The player, recently recovered from an injury to the same knee, which has sidelined him since the beginning of September, ended the match against the Estorilistas (1-0 victory), on Sunday, with physical complaints.
At a time when Deniz Gül is also still included in the Porto medical record, only Samu is fully fit to occupy the striker position in Francesco Farioli’s team.
In addition to the two forwards, central defender Nehuén Pérez is a confirmed casualty, as he is going through a long period of recovery from a complete rupture of his Achilles tendon.
The Porto fans will face Vitória de Guimarães this Thursday, at Estádio do Dragão, from 8:15 pm, in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, refereed by Hélder Carvalho, from the Santarém association.
