Denmark and Greenland propose a NATO mission to Mark Rutte around Greenland and the Arctic

Denmark and Greenland proposed this Monday to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte a NATO mission in Greenland and the Arctic, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen reported.

“We have debated it and we have also proposed it,” he told the press after meeting with Rutte in Brussels together with the head of Foreign Affairs of Greenland, Vivian Motzfeldt, although he did not reveal what the response of the head of the Atlantic Alliance was.

“We have proposed it. The Secretary General of NATO has also taken note of it, and I think we can now establish a framework to achieve it,” Poulsen said.

“This is also in line with what we have discussed with the Greenland government.”
