CP informed this Tuesday, December 9th, that “disruptions in the circulation of trains” are expected on Thursday and “possible impacts” on Wednesday and Friday due to the general strike called for December 11th.

“For customers who already have tickets purchased to travel on trains on the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional services, CP will allow a refund, in the full value of the ticket purchased, or its free exchange for another train of the same category and in the same class”, reads a statement.

Refunds or exchanges can be made in myCP in the “Your tickets” area (for tickets purchased at the Online Ticket Office and CP App) up to 15 minutes before the train leaves the customer’s home station, or at the ticket offices.

After this period, and up to 10 days after the end of the strike, a refund can be requested by completing the online contact form “Refund due to Delay or Suppression”, and sending a scan of the original ticket.

FORMER, FINTCOP, SINDEFER, SINFB, SYNTTI, SNAQ, STF and STMEFE.

Thursday’s general strike against the Government’s draft reform of labor legislation will be the first strike to bring together the two trade unions, CGTP and UGT, since June 2013, when Portugal was under intervention by the troika.
