Eurico Brilhante Dias, leader of the PS parliamentary bench, considered that this Thursday, December 11th, represents “a major defeat for the Government” due to joining the general strike and compared the Minister of the Presidency António Leitão Amaro, who classified her as “inexpressive”, to an “Iraq propaganda minister in the Gulf war”.

“The minister does not live in this country, he did not understand what is happening”, he stated.

The socialist repeated the idea that this labor package proposed by the Government is a “setback” and asked the Executive to go back, wanting it to present “a completely different bill to the one that currently exists”.

Eurico Brilhante Dias recalled “the progress we made” in terms of labor legislation during the PS Government with regard to “reconciliation between family and professional life” or domestic workers and asked: “Are we going to jeopardize fundamental rights?”. “It can’t be”, he argued.

For Eurico Brilhante Dias there is no doubt that the Portuguese “are saying no to this labor package”.
