The Central Board of Secondary Education has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations scheduled for March 3, citing administrative reasons. The board said only the papers slated for that date have been rescheduled, with no change to the rest of the examination timetable.


CBSE reschedules March 3 exams for Classes 10 and 12

According to the official notice, the Class 10 examination earlier scheduled for March 3, 2026, will now be held on March 11, 2026. For Class 12 students, the paper fixed for March 3, 2026, has been postponed to April 10, 2026. The board did not specify subject-related reasons for the longer gap in the Class 12 schedule and reiterated that the decision was taken purely on administrative grounds.
For Class 10, the rescheduled examination includes Tibetan, German, National Cadet Corps, Bhoti, Limboo, Lepcha and Carnatic Music (Vocal). For Class 12, the postponed paper is Legal Studies.

CBSE has directed schools to immediately communicate the revised dates to students and parents to prevent confusion during the examination period. Candidates have been advised to refer to the official notice for detailed information.
The board said Class 10 and Class 12 examinations are conducted under strict protocols to ensure uniformity and transparency across centres, and any change in the schedule is made after careful administrative review.
