The Criminal Investigation Department of the Judicial Police (PJ) of Guarda arrested on Thursday, December 4, a 44-year-old man suspected of being a “child sexual abuser” in the municipality of Almeida. He is suspected of committing two crimes of sexual abuse of children, one crime of simple bodily harm and one crime of threats, committed against an eight-year-old child.
The criminal investigation police stated, in a statement, that the man “carried out the acts reported between January and November of this year, inside the school bus, during the journey between the village where the victim lived and the school she attended, both in the municipality of Almeida”.
The PJ indicates that the criminal complaint was filed on November 5th, and “the investigation was carried out quickly, allowing the consolidation of the evidentiary elements in this short period of time.”
This Friday, December 5th, the detainee will be present for the first judicial interrogation to apply coercive measures in an investigation carried out by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Guarda.
