The Minister of Transport of Angola expressed this Monday, 1, regret for the death of António Mota, Portuguese businessman and former leader of Mota-Engilfor this company’s contribution to the development of Angolan infrastructures.

The former president of Mota-Engil, António Mota, died on Sunday, in Porto, aged 71.

The note states that Mota-Engil has maintained a close relationship with Angola since the year of its foundation, marked by the opening of a branch in Cabinda, in 1946, and by the operationalization of a vast list of projects in Angolan territory, which continues to this day.

“António Mota’s life story reflects vision, tenacity and a unique ability to transform a family business into an international reference, always guided by respect for the markets in which he operated and the partners with whom he collaborated”, says the note.

According to the message, this company’s contribution to the development of infrastructure in Angola “remains visible, relevant and widely recognized, leaving an example that will continue to inspire future generations”.

Currently present in 21 countries and three continents (Europe, Africa and America), Mota-Engil’s main shareholders are the Mota family holding company (MGP), with 40.19% of the capital, and Epoch Capital Investments BV, with 32.41%, and is listed on the PSI, the main index of Euronext Lisbon.
