Lisbon will be the stage, starting this Friday, December 5th, for a journey through time spanning 4500 years to Ancient Egypt, including the Pyramid of Giza, through the virtual immersive expedition called “Cheops Horizon: Journey to Ancient Egypt”.

The inauguration will take place in the underground room of the Terreiro do Paço Metro Station, after more than two million people around the world have had this experience.

Using state-of-the-art Virtual Reality (VR) technology, participants will be able to explore ancient Egyptian temples, tombs and rituals, including places that are still prohibited from visiting.

“Visitors tour the Giza Plateau at sunrise, the mastabas and the grandeur of the Sphinx, cross the Nile in period boats, discover the interior of the Great Pyramid, explore the closed corridors and the secrets of the Queen’s Chamber, meet the goddess Bastet and even attend an embalming ceremony”, indicates a statement sent to the newsrooms.
