The prices of occasional Andante tickets will increase in 2026, but only from the Z3 title onwards, while the price of Z2 (1.40 euros) and monthly passes will remain unchanged, Transportes Metropolitanos do Porto (TMP) announced.

According to a statement published on the Andante website, TMP states that “Andante passes will maintain the tariff in 2026, as will the value of the Z2 occasional ticket, guaranteeing more accessible public mobility that is attentive to families’ cost of living”.

The Z2 title, he says, “represents more than 60% of occasional ticket sales”, and will maintain its price at 1.40 euros.

From the Z3 onwards there will be a price increase in 2026, with this ticket going from the current 1.80 euros to 1.85, the Z4 from 2.25 euros to 2.30 euros, the Z5 from 2.75 to 2.80 euros, the Z6 from 3.20 to 3.25 euros, the Z7 from 3.65 to 3.75 euros, the Z8 from 4.10 to 4.20 euros and the Z9 from 4.55 euros to 4.65 euros.

“The tariff update for 2026 focuses exclusively on occasional tickets, namely simple trips, the Andante 24 and tourist TOUR1 and TOUR3”, says TMP.

Board tickets on the Unir network will also undergo an increase in 2026, with Board Ticket 1 (BB1) going from 2.25 euros to 2.30 euros, BB2 from 4.50 euros to 4.60 euros and BB3 from 6.75 euros to 6.90 euros.

As for passes, the values for “Municipal and Metropolitan, as well as variants with Regional Intermodality (IR), remain unchanged compared to those practiced in 2025”.

TMP states that, with this policy, it “reinforces its commitment to sustainable and accessible public mobility by focusing the price update for 2026 on occasional tickets only, with no impact on monthly passes, particularly relevant for frequent users of public transport”.

On November 28, the president of the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP), Pedro Duarte, had already announced that occasional tickets would increase, but passes would not.

At issue was a proposal, unanimously approved by the mayors present, for the “regular tariff update for collective public passenger transport (TAT), effective from January 1st, in AMP”, which was set at 2.28% by the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT).

The increase in the Z2 title could increase to 1.45 euros, as the former first secretary of the AMP, Ariana Pinho, had indicated if there was a rounding of the direct application of the TAT (1.43 euros to 1.45 euros), but this ended up not happening, leaving the Z2 at 1.40 euros as it currently is.
