We have already understood what the United States wants from the world. Basically extend its influence to the world’s areas where the greatest natural resources are found, especially oil, gas and rare earths.
Therefore, as Europe has none of this, old Uncle Sam turned his back and transferred his influence to the hemispheric area close to the United States. What does this mean? I mean Central and South America. Especially in the south where Venezuela is located. And what is so important in Venezuela that justifies this “bullshit” about drugs invented by Trump and his associates? You go YOURSELF? Well then. Venezuela has the world’s largest reserves of oil and natural gas. It also has iron, bauxite and gold. The problem is that in 2023 and 2024 the main country exporting Venezuelan oil was the United States. However, with the sanctions imposed by Washington, Venezuelan oil began to be exported to China. Changes in the oil export market have resulted in 80 to 90% of Venezuelan oil heading to Beijing. Dear readers, therefore, are seeing some reasons for the new world order.
But when it comes to the Americas, we don’t stop with Venezuela. Brazil is also attractive for the new world order. In addition to oil, it is a country with potential, of course, in rare earths, this new gold of the 21st century. Then Colombia and Peru are not insignificant. The first is promising in rare earths and the second has some precious metals.
Of course, Trump and his muchachos have other ideas for the new world order. Alaska and Greenland, of course. Alaska is a manna of oil, gold, silver, zinc and copper. As for Greenland, to which Trump has already sent his deputy JD Vance, the new world order is justified by the existence of iron, gold, zinc, rare earths, oil and gas. But things get complicated here because Moscow also has its eye on Alaska and must be regretting the sale it made to the United States in 1897 for 7.2 million dollars. There are goods that should not be sold. And as for Greenland, it is an autonomous territory, but under the sovereignty of Denmark (NATO country) and therefore difficult to capture for the new world order….
And, in the midst of all this, what does the European Union look like? Be poor, of course! What should we do with our lives? We don’t have oil, gas, or rare earths (Barroso’s lithium counts for little)! So we are out of the game of Trump’s new world order. But that might even be a good thing. As Kay Bailey Hutchison, US ambassador to NATO, tells Politico, Trump could be doing the European Union a big favor by forcing it to move and act alone. There is therefore little left for the European Union other than to pay its defense expenses itself. Without expecting anything from Uncle Sam, he turned to other places. The countries of the European Union must now find, in an articulated and combined way, a way to obtain all the equipment and hardware necessary in the event of a war and to reinvent their paths to progress. What medicine! Trump blew up what was most valuable in the transatlantic connection between Europe and the United States – Trust. This breach of trust dangerously damaged European growth and scientific development. And with his unhealthy fixation on fossil fuels he is putting into question the European energy transition project that was the apple of von Der Leyen’s eye.
On top of that, the European Union is divided and threatened by far-right parties that Trump supports. Hungary and Slovakia “already play for another club” in the face of the indifference of those who should throw a punch at the table! The Nordic countries and Poland are smart, as they have already reached an agreement with the United Kingdom (a country with nuclear capabilities) so that they can have nuclear deterrence protection at their disposal in the event of military confusion.
Meanwhile, Brussels continues to “hold out its hand” in the search for an understanding between the European Union and Trump on Ukraine, which we know is unlikely to come to fruition. Trump is trying to destroy the European Union by giving strength and means to anti-European parties such as Marine Le Pen’s in France, the populist PiS party in Poland and the German AfD.
The European Union must find its way in unity and preserving what Trump wants to call into question and which is the most valuable thing we have in the European project – our individual freedom. Our freedom of the press and trade unions. And our democratic system may have many flaws but, as far as I know, we don’t know of a better one. A new world order from Trump? So it is ! It’s all about money!
