The strike this Friday, November 21st, in the public sector was at 09:00 registering a participation of around 60% in education and health, with a greater expression in the north zone, the general secretary of Fesinap told Lusa.
“Adherence to the strike is around 60%, especially in health, schools and IPSS, but it is having greater expression in the north of the country. We are still collecting data from all sectors”, the general secretary of the National Federation of Independent Unions of Public Administration and Entities with Public Purposes (Fesinap), Mário Rui, told Lusa.
The strike, called by Fesinap, and which has minimum services, covers workers from all public administration careers, whether general or special.
Mário Rui sent more concrete data on adherence to the strike against the labor package presented by the Government later.
The immediate withdrawal of the labor reform proposal, requesting an urgent meeting with the Government on the “Work XXI” reform, the end of union discrimination practiced by the executive and Fesinap’s effective participation in labor negotiations are the reasons for the 24-hour strike.
Speaking to the Lusa agency on Thursday, the secretary general of Fesinap, Mário Rui, said that education, including teachers and non-teaching staff, and health, including doctors and nurses “could be the sectors most affected following the strike”.
Mário Rui also added that the strike also aims to denounce union discrimination practiced by consecutive governments, adding that minimum services were decreed for all public institutions.
