A 19-year-old college student was deported from the United States despite a court order preventing her removal, noticiou a Associated Press. Any Lucia Lopez Bellozawho left Honduras at age seven, studied at Babson College in Massachusetts.

The young woman was preparing to travel from Boston to Texas on November 20 when she was informed that there was a problem with her boarding pass. I had already passed the security check at Logan Airport. Moments later, according to lawyer Todd Pomerleau, she was detained by immigration agents.

In less than two days, Lopez Belloza was sent to Texas and then deported to Honduras. “She is absolutely heartbroken,” Pomerleau said. “Her college dream has just been shattered.”

The immigration authorities claim that there is a deportation order issued in 2015. The lawyer says that the young woman was unaware of this decision and that the only record found shows that the process was closed in 2017. “They are holding her responsible for something they say happened a decade ago, of which she had no idea, and without providing proof”he declared.

The day after the arrest, a federal judge issued an order prohibiting any transfers for 72 hours. According to the AP, ICE did not respond to requests for clarification about the violation of this decision.
